Oticon CROS miniRITE T: A Breakthrough for Single-Sided Deafness
The Oticon CROS family, including CROS and CROS PX, offers a transformative solution for individuals with single-sided deafness (SSD), a condition characterized by profound or total hearing loss in one ear. These devices enable users to engage more fully with their surroundings, delivering a richer and more immersive open sound experience.
Addressing the Challenges of SSD
Following conversations can be particularly difficult with hearing loss in one ear. Oticon CROS PX and CROS utilize advanced dual-streaming technology, allowing users to enjoy wireless audio streaming while maintaining access to important environmental sounds.
Powered by the Velox S Platform
The Oticon CROS family is built on the powerful Velox S platform, featuring a state-of-the-art processor that enhances sound clarity and quality. Integrated with the OpenSound Navigator, this platform supports natural brain processing for an unmatched auditory experience.
360-Degree Open Sound Experience
The OpenSound Navigator, designed specifically for CROS devices, scans the environment to deliver a 360-degree soundscape by balancing audio inputs and minimizing background noise, ensuring clarity and immersion.
TwinLink Dual Streaming Technology
Oticon CROS is the first CROS/BiCROS solution to offer TwinLink technology, enabling simultaneous NFMI and Bluetooth low-energy 2.4 GHz streaming. This innovation allows users to stream audio, such as from a TV, while still engaging in conversations from the poorer ear side.
Understanding CROS and BiCROS
The CROS system (Contralateral Routing of Signal) works with a paired hearing aid, transmitting sounds from the poorer ear to the better ear. When the better ear has some degree of hearing loss, the BiCROS configuration provides additional amplification. The CROS transmitter must be paired with a compatible hearing aid and cannot function independently.
